There is something sacred about arriving in a place that feels like home the moment your feet touch the ground.

That’s exactly what we felt when we first walked the forested trails of the Kemptville Agroforestry Centre—a space alive with birdsong, dappled sunlight, and the gentle hum of possibility. It’s here, nestled among the trees, that Second Nature is planting new roots.
We’re overjoyed to share that Kemptville will become the newest home of Second Nature, and the Kemptville Agroforestry Centre will serve as our central hub—a gathering place where healing, learning, and belonging intertwine.
A Forest that Welcomes All
Second Nature is more than a program. It’s a way of being with children and families that honours their inner worlds, celebrates neurodivergence, and nurtures regulation, growth, and authentic connection.
Now, families in Kemptville and surrounding communities will have access to multidisciplinary mental health and educational services, all offered within a nature-connected, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed framework.
Whether it’s through therapy, child-led learning, caregiver support, or community events, our mission remains the same:To help children, youth, and families feel seen, safe, and supported—just as they are.
A Place to Heal, Grow, and Belong
The Kemptville Agroforestry Centre is not just a backdrop—it’s a partner in our work. It’s a place where children can move their bodies freely, where laughter echoes through the trees, and where learning happens organically—at the pace of relationship and rhythm of nature.
In a world that often feels fast, disconnected, and clinical, we are choosing slow, relational, and real.
We are choosing co-regulation over compliance, curiosity over correction, and community over isolation.
Why This Matters
We know that access to compassionate, holistic care is life-changing. We also know that the best kind of healing happens when families feel a sense of belonging—not just to a program, but to a community.
Our Kemptville expansion is about more than geography—it’s about deepening our reach, welcoming new families, and co-creating a village of support for those raising and loving neurodivergent children.
It’s about honouring every child’s spark. It’s about wrapping families in care. And it’s about growing a community where we all thrive—together.
Come Walk With Us
We invite you to meet us in the forest. To slow down.To breathe in hope.To know that you are not alone.
Whether you’re a family seeking support, a professional looking to collaborate, or a community member wanting to be part of something meaningful—you are welcome here.
Second Nature at the Kemptville Agroforestry Centre is more than a location—it’s a living, breathing expression of our belief that
connection is the root of everything.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
With gratitude and growing hearts,
Anastasia Machan
