Individual Counselling
Emotional and psychological support embedded in the school day, helping children manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges in real time.
Second Nature School is a neuroaffirming therapeutic educational program for children ages three to twelve.

Second Nature School aims to change the private school landscape by offering an environment where children and families who struggle with traditional institutions can finally feel at home.
We believe that true learning happens when a child feels safe, seen, and supported. By integrating therapeutic principles into our daily curriculum, we ensure that emotional regulation and academic growth go hand-in-hand.

We offer a low-ratio, child-centered, and inclusive environment where each child receives individualized attention to provide a positive learning environment.
We blend educational philosophies to create a neurodiverse, inquiry-based curriculum that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
As this is a therapeutic program overseen by registered professionals, this program is eligible for OAP funding and may be eligible for additional insurance coverage.
We don't fix children. We celebrate them. Our approach recognizes and supports the diverse ways in which children think, learn, and experience the world, valuing each child's unique neurodivergent traits rather than trying to correct them.
Academic growth matters, but so do joy, belonging, and self-worth. We weave emotional well-being into every part of the school day.
No two children follow the same path at Second Nature. Every learning plan is built around the individual's, their strengths, interests, pace, and goals.

We don't work in silos. Families are actively involved through parent coaching, regular communication, and collaborative planning, because your insight is irreplaceable.
Nature is a core part of our curriculum. Outdoor learning, sensory-rich environments, and nature-based exploration help children regulate, connect, and discover.
At Second Nature School, therapeutic support isn't separate from learning, it's built right in. Our multidisciplinary team works together so your child receives seamless, holistic care.

We get this a lot: "Is Second Nature a school? A therapy program? Childcare?" The answer is yes, a hybrid model where education and therapeutic support come together seamlessly.
Second Nature School differs from ABA programs by focusing on a child-led, neuro-affirming approach that respects and celebrates each child's individuality. While ABA often focuses on behaviour modification through structured interventions, we prioritize understanding the child's emotional, social, and developmental needs and building a strong therapeutic relationship. We do have team members with BCBA training on-site, but their work is guided by our neuro-affirming, relationship-first philosophy rather than rigid ABA methods. Our program is rooted in creating a nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace, without pressure to conform to predetermined behaviours.
Yes, at Second Nature, we tailor our program to meet the sensory and communication needs of each child. Whether your child experiences sensory sensitivities, communication challenges, or other unique needs, our team works closely with you to create a personalized plan that supports their development. We integrate strategies to enhance sensory regulation, promote effective communication, and foster independence.
At Second Nature School, we create a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels safe, seen, and valued. We focus on building strong, trusting relationships with each child, taking the time to understand their unique needs, strengths, and challenges. By getting to know them deeply, we are able to provide personalized support that helps them feel emotionally and physically secure. Our compassionate staff is dedicated to creating a space where children can explore, grow, and express themselves freely. We work closely with families to ensure that every child feels supported, loved, and safe in their school community.
Second Nature School may be the right fit for your family if you are seeking a supportive, child-centered environment that values individuality and promotes a neuro-affirming approach. We embrace diverse learning styles and are committed to providing personalized support to help children thrive. If you are looking for a school that prioritizes emotional well-being, social connection, and the development of life skills in a nature-based setting, Second Nature could be the perfect match. We work closely with families to ensure that every child’s unique needs are met, fostering a sense of community, understanding, and growth.
At Second Nature, we embrace neurodivergence by recognizing and celebrating the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent children bring to the world. Our approach fosters an inclusive environment where every child is valued for who they are, and their individuality is celebrated. We create a supportive space that focuses on understanding each child’s needs and providing personalized strategies to help them thrive. Through a neuro-affirming approach, we ensure that neurodivergent children feel accepted, respected, and empowered to grow at their own pace, free from the pressure to conform to traditional expectations.
